Abstract

Background: Based on the number of teenagers in Kebumen Regency of 239,213 people from the total population. The problem that often occurs in the elderly is the lack of ability of teenagers to communicate with their parents. The lack of family ability to communicate well causes families to experience disruption of the family process. One way to handle family communication problems with teenagers is to use solution focused therapy (SFT) family therapy. The purpose: To provide an overview of family nursing care at the developmental stage of adolescents with nursing problems, family process disorders using solution focused therapy (SFT) family therapy. The research: use: This scientific paper uses a descriptive method, with a case study approach. The data obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. The subject of case study is three families with a developmental stage of adolescents having a breakdown in the family process. The result: Intervening involves identifying family matters, facilitating decisionmaking, Discussing therapy, Prepare for collaboration, and education. Identification of the family's identification issues, discussing family therapy, prepares the family for treatment, and SFT therapy. Evaluation results indicate increased communication and family openness, and family processing disorders overcome. The intervention and implementation carried out were by conducting solution focused therapy (SFT) for 7 meetings. The results of the evaluation after conducting SFT therapy for 7 meetings with 3 families showed that SFT therapy can improve the effective communication ability of families with adolescents. Recommendation: solution focused therapy (SFT) is an effective way to deal with communication problems between adolescents and parents.
