Abstract
Background: WHO stated 32 million cases of fever happens to children aged 3-12 years old of which the mortality rate is 3.11% - 10.4%. Fever in children is generally caused by infectious viruses. Incorrect handlingnya of fever in children mau cause disturbance of their growth development and even mortality. One of completed tart therapist which is safe for reducing fever is by applying water tepid sponge method and compress of hibiscus leaf. Objective: This study aims at knowing that application of water tepid sponge method and compress of hibiscus leaf to reduce fever of children in Independent Midwifery Clinic of Midwife Eko Setyorini. Method: This study is and analytical descriptive with a case study. The participants are 5 children who get fever at Karangrejo, Petanahan, Kebumen. Result: After having the application of water tepid sponge method and compress of hibiscus leaf, there was a decrease in various body temperatur of all participants. There were 3 participants having a decrease of 0.7 oC, 1 participant having 0.8 oC decrease and 1 participant having 1.1 oC decrease.
