Abstract
Background: Wrong management of lactation ia a problem that obstructs the flow of breast milk. It will lead to a decrease in breast milk production (less breast milk syndrome), i.e. about 55% of mothers feed their infants during the first 6 weeks. The breast milk insufficiency is not only caused by physical disorders but mostly because of mismanagement of lactation. It means there is no outflow of breast milk on the first postpartum. There is pain enzyme in Papaya leaf that many people do not know yet. This kind of enzyme serves to accelerate the flow of breast milk on the puerperium. Objective: Providing midwifery care for post partum mothers to consume instant powder of papaya leaf to accelerate breast milk in Independent Midwifery Clinic of Midwife Jemanis at Jatimulyo, Alian, Kebumen. Method: This research is a descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation and interview. Data were analyzed by means of data reduction, data presentasi on then drawing conclusions. The participants are postpartum mothers having problems with the smoothness of breast milk. Result: After consuming instant powder of papaya leaves for 3 days, there was an increase in the smoothness of breast milk of ppstpartum mothers. This was indicated by the breast condition, breast milk seepage from nipple, the frequency of sucking, urination, disppsal bowl, and the frequency of sleep. Conclusion: Instant powder of papaya leaf can improve the smoothness of breast milk of postpartum mothers.
