Abstract
Background of Study: Physiological function in the elderly will decrease due to degenerative processes (aging) so that many non-communicable diseases appear in the elderly, one of which is hypertension. The prevalence of hypertension increases when compared to the 2013 Riskesdas, which is based on 25.8% to 34.1% in 2017. The contributing factors in increasing the prevalence of hypertension are inadequate or not potassium consumption in accordance with the amount of potassium assistance that must be purchased per day. Elderly who consume 2 Ambon bananas a day can reduce diastolic sysiolic blood pressure so that they can improve hypertension and can increase life expectancy. General Purpose of Study: Applying nursing care using the nursing process approach with priority problems applying the therapy of Ambon banana with cardiac output disorders in the UPT. Puskesmas Maos Cilacap. Methods of Research: The approach used in this research is descriptive in the form of case studies. Nursing Care Results: Based on the results of studies that have been carried out in 2 patients for 7 x 24 hours the authors formulated a nursing diagnosis of decreased cardiac output associated with associated vasoconstriction, namely patients complaining that their head is often dizzy and their neck is whiny. The implementation carried out was adjusted to the treatmnet plan by adding nursing innovations to reduce blood pressure by consuming 2 Ambon bananas per day. Decreasing blood pressure in elderly people with hypertension who consumed 2 Ambon bananas for 1 week decreased blood pressure on average by 15 mmHg or about 10% of blood pressure before consuming Ambon banana. Recommendation: For the next researcher, it is expected to develop this research in dealing with hypertension problems and controlling confounding variables that influence blood pressure such as sodium and fat make and other factors, so that the results obtained can be even better.
