Abstract
Background: The prevalence of oral hygiene problems are still quite high in the world, globally, 60-90% of school street children experience tooth decay. Health education is a method to motivate the patient in order to clean the teeth effectively. Objective: Finding out of the influence of health education with the snake and ladders game methods against the level of knowledge of oral hygiene Research Methods: The research use quasi experiment, with the approach was one of group pre-test and post-test design. 56 children of sampel were taken by using random sampling techniques. The data were analyzed with the test analysis techniques paired samples t-test. Research Results: Results of the level of knowledge pre-test and post-test of 56 respondents experienced an increase in both categories increased from 25 children (44.6%) be 51 children (91.1%).The results of the analysis data showed there was knowledge of the snake and ladders game methods with a level of knowledge of students after given proceeds with the significance of health education. 000 (p < = 0.005) which means there is influence Conclusion: There is the influence of health education with the methods with snake and ladder game methods to the knowledge of oral hygiene in children of elementary school age. Recommendation: Further Research is expected to examine the difference in the effectiveness of the methods of snake game ladder with the method of video playback to increased knowledge of school-aged children about oral hygiene.
