Abstract
Background: Safety is a patient's right so health service professionals are obliged to provide safe health services. Efforts to anticipate and prevent patients from falling with or without injury need to be done Objective: To find out the description of compliance with risk prevention management falls with the installation of bed barriers conducted by class III inpatient nurses at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Gombong. Methods: This study used a descriptive design with a survey approach. The sample consisted of 42 implementing nurses. Data were analyzed descriptively. Results: The majority of nurses in class III inpatient care with age ≥30 years (81.0%), D3 education (64.3%), and length of work ≥5 years (61.9%). Most of the nurses in class III inpatient rooms at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital with adherence to preventive measures for patients at risk of falling with the installation of bed barriers were categorized as non-compliant (52.4%). Conclusion: Nurses do not adhere to the precautionary measures patients risk falling with the installation of a bed barrier. Recommendation: Nurses are expected to get used to explaining to family or patients about the reasons for installing bed barriers and educating patients' families about reducing the risk of falling patients
