Abstract
Bacground: Pregnant mothers may have physiological and psychological changes is foot edema-about 80% pregnant mothers in the third trimester. this is because of uterus suppression blocking venous return and gravitational pull causing greater fluid retention. To reduce edema, pregnant mother in the third trimester pregnancy can apply foot massage and galingale warm water soaking. Objective: Providing midwifery care for pregnant mothers having physiological edema by applying foot massage and galingale warm water soaking. Method: This study is an analytical descriptive with a case study approach. the respondents were 5 pregnant mothers in the third trimester. data were obtained through observation, documentation, and literature study. Result:After having the application of foot massage and galingale warm water soaking, there was a decrease in the edema degree of all respondents. Conclusion: Foot massage and galingale warm water soaking can reduce foot edema of pregnant mothers in the third trimester.
