Abstract
Background: The prevalence of problems with gross motor development in Indonesia is 12.4%. The importance of stimulating motor development is to optimize child development. Jumping rope game is taken as an action to improve children's gross motor skills, especially strength and balance because jumping rope is an activity that is not harmful, liked by children, and fun. Objective: Knowing the effect of jumping rope game on the development of rude motor skills of preschool in Waluyorejo Village, Puring District, Kebumen Regency. Method: This study used a Quasi experiment method with one group pre-post-test design. A total of 40 samples were taken in total sampling. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Test. The instrument used is a rubber rope. The way to play is that the child jumps over a 3 meter long rubber rope with a height of 20 cm, the game lasts 20 minutes. Result: The results of rude motor skill development pre test and post test of 40 respondents experienced an increase in the appropriate category increased from 35 children (87.5%) to 40 children (100%). Conclusion: There is an influence of jump rope games on the development of rude motor skills of aged preschool children in Waluyorejo Village, Puring District, Kebumen Regency (p = 0.025). Recommendation: Further researchers are expected to conduct research on the comparison of the effectiveness of the jump rope method with the crank method to the development of rude motor skills of children.
