Abstract
Background: Hypertension prevalence rises worldwide, and it causes mortality. Non-pharmacology can apply to cure hypertension through diet, lifestyle changes, soak feet in warm water, and avoid stress in mind. Purpose: To determine the effect of foot soaking therapy with warm water and Murottal Al Qur’an on blood pressure levels of hypertensive patients. Method: This study was a quasi-experiment, pre-posttest with control group design. The samples were 50 respondents divided into two groups: intervention and control groups consisting of 25 respondents each recruited by purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed by Wilcoxon signed-rank test. These procedurals were conducted from April to Mei 2021 in Batur 2 Community Health Center,Wonosobo. Result: Hypertension of the intervention group before therapy was mostly prehypertension category consisting of nine respondents (36.0%) became normal blood pressure after therapy of thirty respondents (52.0%). While in the control group, twelve respondents (48.0%) were primarily in normal blood pressure category before therapy and fourteen (56.0%) on posttest then. Statistical analysis showed different lower blood pressure between intervention and control groups (p-value = 0,000). Conclusion: There was significant difference between intervention and control groups. Recommendation: Further research may use non-pharmacology therapy such as herbal to decrease blood pressure.
