Abstract

Background: The achievement of exclusive breastfeeding in the Buluspesantren area in 2021 is 72.9%. One of the reasons for not giving of exclusive breastfeeding for infants under six months of age is the production of postpartum mother's milk that is obstructed or not smooth in the early days after giving birth even more than three days after giving birth. The impact of not being given exclusive breastfeeding until the baby is six months old is the lack of good child development. Green bean juice can be used as an alternative for breastfeeding mothers to increase milk production, because green beans contain vitamin B1 (thiamin) which can convert carbohydrates into energy, strengthen the nervous system and also to produce breast milk. Objective: To applied the consumption of mung bean juice to postpartum for increasing the amount of breast milk production. Methods: This research was case study designed. Participants in the study were 3 postpartum who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data obtained from observation and documentation. Results: The application was carried out for 8 days from 6 hours after giving birth, participants consumed 150 ml of green bean juice every time they drank with a frequency of morning and evening. After the application of green bean juice consumption for 8 days with a consumption frequency of 2x a day, there was an increase in breast milk production in a good category of the three participants. Before the implementation was given, the milk production of the three participants was in the low category.
