Abstract

Background: Postpartum mothers usually experience perineal rupture, perineal rupture is the occurrence of a tear when the baby was born, either by using measures or tools or spontaneously that occurs in the perineum during the delivery process. To accelerate the healing of perineal wounds, it can be done by applying the provision of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and consuming boiled free-range chicken eggs. Purpose: To find out the acceleration of perineal wound healing using Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and consumption of boiled free-range chicken eggs. Methods: This research was a quantitative research with a case study approach. The participants were 3 postpartum mothers who met the inclusion criteria.The instrument used were observation sheets, REEDA scale sheets and cameras.Data were obtained by interview, observation,and documentation. Results: After being given Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and consuming boiled free-range chicken eggs for 7 days, 100% of participants experienced good perineal wound healing. Conclusion: The application of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and consumption of boiled free-range chicken eggs can help accelerate the healing of perineal wounds in postpartum mothers.
