Abstract
Background : Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new type of corona virus. This virus has been declared a global pandemic. Indonesia is one of the countries affected by the epidemic Research Objectives : To find out the pattern of use and evaluate the appropriateness of the use of antibiotics and antiviral in adult COVID-19 patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Sruweng Hospital Research Methods : This study uses a descriptive method by taking data retrospectively with the total sampling method. Medical record data of adult patients hospitalized for COVID-19 for the period March- May 2021, then compared with the COVID-19Management Protocol Pocket Book Edition II, and analyzed using Microsoft excel. Research Results : Based on the results of this study, a sample of 75 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 was obtained. Antiviral drugs that are often prescribed to patients diagnosed with COVID-19 at PKU Muhammadiyah Sruweng Hospital are Oseltamivir 75 mg, amounting to 50.67%, while the antibiotic often used for COVID-19 patients is Azithromycin 500 mg, amounting to 90.41%. Conclusion : Evaluation of the use of antiviral drugs is known that 45.33% are right indications, 45.33% are right drugs, 60,00% are right doses, while the evaluation of the use of COVID-19 antibiotics is known that 77,33% are right indications, 77,33% are right drugs and 82,67% correct dose. Recommendation: For the hospital, it is recommended that there be improvements in the completeness and clarity of recording medical record data.
