Abstract

Background, the background of this study is cervical cancer patients who get family support to improve their quality of life. Cervical cancer is cancer that infects the cervix caused by infection with HPV (Human Papillomavirus). A person affected by cancer will experience a decrease in physical and psychological conditions related to a decreased quality of life. Patients with cervical cancer need support from their families to improve their quality of life. Research Objectives, the purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and the quality of life of cervical cancer patients. Research Methods, the method of this study used a correlational quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. Samples were taken by non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used was a questionnaire sheet. Bivariate analysis using Pearson Product Moment correlation test. Research results, the results of this study are the product-moment correlation coefficient of 0,410 with a significance value of 0,000 < 0,05 and 0,443 with a significance value of 0,002 < 0,05. In conclusion, this study concludes that there is a significant relationship with a moderate degree of correlation between family support and the quality of life of cervical cancer patients. The higher the value of family support, the better the patient's quality of life. Recommendations are expected to be able to examine the factors that influence family support on the quality of life of cervical cancer patients.
