Abstract
Background : Naturally the aging process causes physical, mental and psychosocial changes. The physical changes which tends to decrease will cause various physical disorders influencing health, and quality of life. These changes do influence the elderly independence for doing daily activities. Objective : This study aims to determine the correlation between the elderly independence and their quality of life in Kradenan, Ambal, Kebumen. Methods : This study was correlational research. The respondents of this study were the elderly in Kradenan, Ambal, Kebumen in amount of 132 respondents. The sampling technique used simple random sampling technique. The data analysis used Spearman Rank Test. Result : Most of the elderly were having high self independence (97,7%). There were 72,7% respondents who have had good quality of life. The Spearman Rank Test showed p value 0,034 (p<0,05). Conclusion : There were correlation between the elderly independence and their quality of life in Kradenan, Ambal, Kebumen.
