Abstract

Introduction, hypertension involves an increase in systolic blood pressure of over 130 MMHGS and diastolic blood pressure over 80 MMHGS. Worldwide, about 1.13 billion people suffer from hypertension, and in Indonesia, hypertension rates by 31.7%, and 7.2% of hypertensive people know about their illnesses and only 0.4% take hypertensive drugs. It is estimated that 6% of all deaths worldwide are caused by hypertension. for hypertension in 2018, there are 23,735 cases, while the ayah district itself, of 6,301, has been recorded. Purpose, the purpose of this study is to know how classical music affects blood pressure reduction in hypertensive people at Ayah I Healtch Center, Ayah District, Kebumen Regency. Methods, this type of research is a quantitative study with experimental quasi research design. The design of this research used one group prepost design test. Results, as a result of the study, classical music therapy has had an effect on lower levels of systolic blood pressure. The statistical test results using sample t test got value at 0.000. And there's the impact of classical music therapy on diastolic blood pressure reduction, statistical results using sample t-test scores came at value in 0,000. Conclusion, classical music therapy has been shown to lower the blood pressure of the systolic and diastole blood pressure in hypertensive patients at Ayah I Healtch Center, Ayah District, Kebumen Regency. Recommendation, it is expected that health-care workers at Ayah I Health Center will adopt classical (non-pharmacological) music therapies for hypertensive people.
