Abstract
Background: TikTok is a social media platform originating from China that focuses on short videos with various features. Throughout 2021, 656 million people worldwide downloaded the TikTok application, making it the most popular application. Indonesia accounts for 47.6% of the total population and is the second country with the most downloads of the TikTok application after the United States. TikTok profoundly influences youth socially, educationally, and perceptually. TikTok has mostly positive effects but can also negatively impact teens when the videos are violent, which can encourage a minority of teens to imitate violent acts. Objective: To determine the effect of the Tik Tok application on the behavior of adolescents at SMA Negeri 1 Sirampog. Method: This study uses a quantitative method and is designed with a survey method. This study uses a questionnaire as a research tool. Samples were taken randomly from a total of 100 people. The data were analyzed using percentages and a simple linear regression test. Result: The results of the study showed that 21 respondents (21%) had positive adolescent behavior and 79 respondents (79%) had negative behavior. If the coefficient value b = -0.60 (negative), then the regression model is negative or opposite, meaning that if the variable playing TikTok (X) is more frequent, the behavior variable (Y) will be more negative. Conclusion: There is a significant effect of the Tik Tok application on the behavior of adolescents at SMA Negeri 1 Sirampog Brebes. Recommendation: Future researchers should add research variables such as mental health, physical health, and soci al interaction.
