Abstract
Background: Nurses are health workers who have an important role in providing health services to the community. Therefore, it is important for nurses to continue their education to a bachelor's degree in nursing. Factors that can influence a nurse's desire to continue their education to a bachelor's degree in nursing include competition in the world of work, support from family and superiors, and socioeconomic conditions. Objectives: Knowing the factors that influence the motivation of diploma III program nurses to continue their education at the undergraduate level of nursing at RS X Method: This study investigates the relationship between cross-sectional methods and other methods. Data was collected by the author from 69 nurses randomly. This study analyzes bivariate and univariate data. Results: Diploma III program nurses' desire to continue their undergraduate nursing education was not influenced by competition (p = 0.828), family support (p = 0.003), or superior support (p = 0.000). Diploma III program nurses' desire to continue their undergraduate nursing education was also not influenced by socioeconomics (p = 0.000). Conclusion: Competition is not related to the desire of diploma III program nurses to continue their education to a bachelor's degree in nursing at the hospital. Recommendation: Future researchers should examine using qualitative methods the motivation of D III nurses to continue their education.
