Abstract
The background to this research is that hypertension can cause severe complications and increase the risk of heart disease, stroke and death. Based on Basic Health research (2018), the prevalence of hypertension or blood pressure in Indonesia is 34.1%, an increase compared to the prevalence of hypertension in Riskesda in 2013, which was 25.8%. Recurrence of hypertension in the elderly can be seen from several factors, namely factors such as irregular drinking. antihypertensive drugs, unhealthy eating patterns and physical activity factors. The aim of this research is to find out the factors that influence the recurrence of hypertension in the elderly at Siaga Medika Hospital in Banyumas. The method of this research uses quantitative research using a correlational design, using a cross sectional approach. The sample for this study was the elderly in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria with a total of 50 respondents. The results of this study were that there was a relationship between physical activity and the recurrence of hypertension at Siaga Medika Banyumas Hospital with a significance value of 0.059, there was a relationship between diet and the recurrence of hypertension at Siaga Medika Hospital Banyumas with a significance value of 0.005, there is a relationship between adherence to taking medication and the recurrence of hypertension at Siaga Medika Hospital Banyumas with a significance value of 0.034. The conclusion of this research is that there is a relationship between factors that influence the recurrence of hypertension can be elderly at Siaga Medika Banyumas Hospital. Recommendations for further research, future researchers can involve more samples by conducting research in several hospitals so that it is hoped that they can better represent the picture of hypertensive patients. Future research should obtain more information related to the types of anti hypertensive drugs. used and the duration of experiencing hypertension.
