Abstract
Background: The background of this research is that diabetes mellitus is a health problem that is often complained about by people around the world because its incidence pattern is increasing. Diabetes can affect the quality of life in several aspects, namely age, gender, education, complications, length of illness and economic status. Research Objectives: the aim of this research is to determine the factors that influence the quality of life in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in the outpatient installation of RSU Siaga Medika Purbalingga Research Method: the method of this research uses Cross Sectiona, the research population is 260 patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus, with a total sampling method, a sample of 158 respondents. The data analysis used was univariate analysis with percentages, bivariate with the chis-quare test Research Results: the results of this study found that there was no relationship between age (0.307>0.005), complications (0.143>0.005) with the quality of life of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients, there was a relationship between gender (0.000<0.005), education (0.000<0.005), duration of illness (0.000<0.005) and economic status (0.000<0.005), with the quality of life of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between gender, education, length of illness and economic status with the quality of life of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients, and there is no relationship between age and complications with the quality of life of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Recommendations: for further research are expected to use a larger sample of respondents and variables in order to obtain maximum data.
