Abstract
Background: Diarrhea ranks 9th out of 10 deadly diseases in low and middle income countries. The mother's level of knowledge and attitude towards diarrhea is still one of the factors that influences the incidence of diarrhea. Objective: The objective of this study was to relationship between knowledge and attitudes of mothers towards diarrhea in children under five at the posyandu in Arjowinangun Village. Methods: This study uses quantitative research using descriptive correlational design and cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study was 41 respondents, using 3 questionnaires, namely to determine the identity of the respondents, knowledge and attitudes of the respondents. Result: The results obtained were that the majority of respondents were in the age range 21-35 years, the results of mother's knowledge were in the quite-good category as many as 39 respondents, the results of mother's attitude with a positive score were 37 respondents. Conclusion: The resultsof this study showed insignificant results between knowledge and attitudes of mothers towards diarrhea incidents at Posyandu Arjowinangun Village. This is indicated by the p value of knowledge (0.102) and p value of attitude (0.423), which means that both are more than the value (p <0.05). Recommendation: Future researchers will be able to obtain samples and examine other factors that influence the prevention of diarrhea in toddlers.
