Abstract
Background: The data of Health Ministry of Indonesia (2015) shows that the failure of mother in breastfeeding, such as less milk production (no outflow) 32%, nipple problem 28%, swollen breast 25%. Oketani massage is one of the ways to overcome those problems. Oketani massage is a breast care method that can stimulate pectoralis muscle strength.This is for increasing the production of breast milk, improving flat nipples and inverted nipples, and preventing breast milk stuck as well. The writer, therefore, is interested in applying Oketani massage method to overcome the problems of postpartum mother that will affect breast milk stuck. Objective: To know the effectiveness ofthe application of breast massage with Oketani massage method using olive oil for preventing breast milk stuck. Method: This study uses an analytical descriptive method with case study approach. The writer describes the facts of the assessment obtained through interviews and direct observation on the 5 participants, and then the data was documented. This study was conducted from February 27 to May 6, 2017. Result: After having Oketani breast massage method, the breast milk stuck of all postpartum mothers (5 participants) can be prevented (the method is 100% effective) Conclusion: Oketani breast massage method is effective to prevent the breast milk stuck in Independent Midwifery Clinic of MidwifeTugirah, A.Md, Keb
