Abstract

Background: According to the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA), there were 2,325 cases of bullying among children in the period from January to August 2023 and most cases occurred in elementary school children. Forms of bullying can be in the form of cases that have already occurred or in the form of threats, which will cause anxiety. Objective: To determine the effect of positive affirmations to prevent anxiety against the threat of bullying students in SD Negeri Kaliwatukranggan. Methods: The research method is a quasi experiment with a one-group pretestposttest design approach. The research sample was 48 students taken by non-random assignment. The instrument is the Revised Children's Manifest Anxiety Scale (RCMAS) questionnaire and positive affirmation SOP. Each group meets once a day for 4 days. Data were analyzed descriptively and comparatively. Results: Before being given positive affirmation therapy, 5 (10.4%) students experienced severe anxiety, 26 (54.2%) students experienced mild anxiety, and 17 (35.4%) students experienced mild anxiety. After being given positive affirmation therapy, there were 3 (6.3%) normal students, 18 (37.5%) students experienced mild anxiety, 25 (52.1%) students experienced moderate anxiety, and 2 (4.2%) students experienced severe anxiety. There is an influence of positive affirmation therapy to prevent anxiety regarding the threat of bullying students in SD Negeri Kaliwatunranggan (p-value 0.000). Recommendation: Future research is expected to examine the factors that influence anxiety from the threat of bullying to determine appropriate intervention.
