Abstract
Background: Awareness regarding halal cosmetics is still relatively low. The high level of dependence on products and the lack of consumer knowledge regarding cosmetic ingredients makes it difficult for consumers to switch to products that are halal certified. The problem that results in a lack of knowledge about halal products is the lack of easily accessible education regarding the halalness of a product. Several things that can influence behavior in decisions to use cosmetics include spiritual intelligence (spiritual intelligence), spiritual suitability (spiritual suitability), related products (product involvement), and product image (product image). Objective: To determine the level of knowledge regarding the behavior of using halal cosmetics among Muhammadiyah Senior High School adolescents in Gombong City. Method: This research method is in the form of a quasi-experiment with a cross-sectional approach. The research instrument used was a Google form which contained the level of knowledge regarding the behavior of using halal cosmetics. Result: The level of knowledge of respondents regarding halal cosmetics was categorized as 20.8% who had good knowledge, 77.1% who had fairly good knowledge, and 2.1% who had poor knowledge. And the post test results showed that 64.9% had good knowledge, 34.2% had quite good knowledge, and the remaining 0.9% had poor knowledge. Normality test results obtained were 0.000 where (p<0.05). The Wilcoxon test result in this study was 0.000 (p ≤ 0.05). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the level of knowledge and the behavior of using halal cosmetics (p<0.05). Recommendation: For further research, it is hoped that it will be prospective in order to see what products are used.
