Abstract
Background : Self efficacy has an influence in exclusive breastfeeding. Mother with low breastfeeding self efficacy tend to apply alternative techniques to breastfeed their baby when facing problems during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding self efficacy can increase mother’s motivation in breastfeeding to improve baby’s health. Objective : To know the characteristics of postpartum mothers, to know the level of breastfeeding self efficacy on postpartum mothers in Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong. Method : This study uses descriptive method with survey approach. The sample is 40 postpartum mothers taken by purposive sampling. Results : This study resulted in findings that most respondents were in the age of 20-35 years old category (95.0%). Most of respondents in Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong have high breastfeedingself efficacy category (70.0%). Recommendation : It is hoped that the nurse will conduct self efficacy study on post partum mother and give health education about exclusive breastfeeding so that mother get enough knowledge and understanding and increase of confidence to do breastfeeding process.
