Abstract
Background: Patient safety is a system set up by the hospital to prevent and reduce errors in patient care. The skill, knowledge level, and attitude of nurses play a very important role in the implementation of patient safety. Hospital facilities will greatly affect the quality of health services provided. Objective: To find out the factors that influence the implementation of patient safety goals on nurses in Class I, II, III medical wards of Dr. Soedirman hospital of Kebumen. Method: This study is an analytical descriptive with cross sectional approach. The samples are 33 nurses taken by using random sampling technique. Result: There are 25 nurses (75.8%) having high knowledge level, and 30 nurses (90.9%) having positive attitude. There were 26 nurses (78.8%) stating that the facilities for the patient safety goals were good. Conclusion: The factors influencing the implementation of patient safety goals on nurses are knowledge level, attitude, and facilities. Meanwhile, the dominant factor is the knowledge level. Recommendation: Nurses improve the implementation of patient safety goals, and provide oversight of hospital patient safety goal to improve patient safety goal implementation.
