Abstract
Background: Dental caries is an infectious disease that often affects children. In Central Java provision caries occurrence of 41.3%. Caries disease in children less attention from parents. The role of parents is needed in the maintenance of children's health, especially dental and oral hygiene because children are still dependent on parents. Research Objectives: To determine the relationship between the role of parents with dental caries events. Research Method: This research uses descriptive correlative design using crosssectional approach. Samples were taken using total sampling technique with number of 59 respondents. Results: Based on the result of research, it is known that the role of parents in educating their children related to dental health in the third grade students - VI SDN IV Donorojo in the category of less that is 27 respondents (45.8%) and students of grade III - VI SDN IV Donorojo experiencing dental caries as much 48 respondents (81.4%). Value p = 0.000 (p <0.05), which means there is a relationship between the Parent Role with the incidence of Dental caries on Students Class III - VI SDN IV Donorojo District Sempor. Recommendation: It is necessary for the school and parents to pay more attention to the dental health of student in SDN IV Donorojo.
