Abstract
Background: Caring is a kind of relationship and transactions required by the giver and the recipient of care to improve and protect a patient as a human being. Therefore, caring will affect the patient to recover. Objective: To determine the relationship of knowledge and attitude of caring with caring behavior of nurses towards patients of class III medical ward in Barokah and Inayah Wards of Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong. Method: This study is a descriptive correlation design. The writer describes a phenomenon that occurs by connecting two variables with the test of kendall's tau by using Cross sectional Approach. There are 30 respondents as the samples and it’s done by using total sampling. Result: There is a correlation between knowledge with caring behavior of nurses in the test patient of pallet's – p = 0,021 (p <0,05) and so there is also correlation between caring attitude with caring behavior of nurses in patient test result of kendall's tau – the value of p = 0.010 (p <0.05). Conclusion: There is correlation between knowledge and attitude of caring with caring behavior of nurses of class III medical ward in Barokah and Inayah wards of Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong. Recommendation: Nurses have to improve their knowledge and caring attitude for better caring behavior in patient.
