Abstract

Background, IUDs are an effective contraceptive tool and do not need to be remembered daily like pills. The background of this study is that not many women who use EFA use contraception method IUD, there are several factors that can affect the mother in choosing IUD contraception method. The purpose of the study, the purpose of this study is to determine the factors that affect the low interest in the use of IUD contraceptives in the UPT Puskesmas Kroya I. The research method, the method of this research is quantitative with analytic survey design with cross sectional design. analysis techniques using chisquare and multiple logistic regression. The results of this study are bivariate factors that influence the low interest of using IUD contraception is education (p-value 0,000 <0,05), economy (p-value 0,000 <0,05), knowledge (p-value 0,000 < 0,05), side effect (p-value 0,000 <0,05) and husbands support (p-value 0,002 <0,05), mean age (p-value 0,0683> 0,05) In conclusion, side effects are the most dominant factor affecting the low interest of IUD contraceptive use. Recommendations, Puskesmas socialize about the side effects of IUD contraception to EFA women through counseling
