Abstract
Background: Hypertension is one of the main causes of early death throughout the world. Hypertension kills nearly 8 billion people every year in the world and almost 1.5 million people each year in the Azi East region to South Azia. In 2020, around 1.6 billion adults will live with hypertension. Music is a series of beautiful sounds that have extraordinary effects on body health. Instrumental music therapy may reduce blood pressure. Objective: Describe the application of instrumental music therapy to reduce blood pressure of hypertensive patients. Method: The present research used descriptive analytical method with case study approach. Data obtained through interviews, observation, physical examination. The subjects were 2 patients who had hypertension at the first stage. Result: The application of instrumental music therapy can reduce the blood pressure i.e. 5-11 mmHg of sistolic pressure and 3-5 mmHg of diastolic one. Recommendation: The instrumental music therapy can be an option to reduce blood pressure given together with medical pharmacology.
