Abstract
Background: Preoperative mothers of SC surgery must undergo anesthesia which can lead to Post Operative Nausea Vomiting / (PONV). Risk factors related to PONV include: age, sex, obesity, and motion sickness, duration of fasting preoperatively, type of surgery and duration of surgery. PONV will prevent the patient's discharge from the post-operative care room and can lead to longer treatment times. It is important to do research to find out the factors that cause the occurrence of PONV so that the incident can be prevented as early as possible. Objective: To analyze the description of factors that cause Post Operative Nausea Vomiting (PONV) in post op Sectio Caesarea (SC) patients. Method: This research is quantitative descriptive. A number sample of 68 post op SC patients was taken by purposive sampling technique Results: Respondents who experienced obesity were as much as 29.4% with a scale PONV value of 2.25%. Respondents who did not undergo preoperative fasting as much as 25% experienced PONV with a scale of 2. Respondents who underwent SC surgery during > 1 hour as much as 23.5% experienced a scale 2 PONV event. Respondents who had a history of Motion Sickness as much as 38.2% experienced a scale 2 PONV event and Respondents who were given Ondansentron premedication as many as 23.5% experienced a scale 1 PONV. Conclusion: An overview of the factors that cause the Post Operative Nausea Vomiting (PONV) in post op (SC) patients include: age, duration of preoperative fasting, length of duration of surgery, motion sickness and premedication history. Recommendation: Hospitals are recommended to improve the care of post SC patients well and pay attention to PONV risk factors such as duration of operation, and premedication history.
