Abstract
Background: Chronic kidney failure is a disease that is very frightening and deadly for everyone. Based on data from the World Health Organization or the World Health Organization (WHO) found that only preventing chronic kidney failure and getting treatment were only 25% and 12.5% that were treated well. The terminal procuring a lifetime dialysis machine was replaced by a terminal life of kidney failure which carried out hemodialysis therapy. Poor interpersonal relationships due to a decline in organ function and changes in physical conditions are related to low self-concept of prices Objective: To find out social relationships with families in PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Research Methods: Research uses correlational design using cross-sectional. The population of all patients with chronic renal failure supported by hemodialysis therapy is 196 people. The sample was 127 people taken by consecutive sampling. Instrument in the form of a questionnaire adopted from previous research. Data were analyzed descriptively and analyzed using the Kendal trial. Results: Patients with chronic kidney failure have family social support in a sufficient category (91.3%). Kidney failure patients have self-esteem in the moderate category (82.7%). Family social support is related to self-esteem in patients with chronic kidney failure who assess hemodialysis (p = 0.001). Conclusion: Getting good social support received by patients with chronic renal failure is high as a patient's self-esteem. Recommendation: For other researchers, it is expected to carry out low self-esteem management examinations in patients with renal failure approved by hemodialysis using individual therapy, cognitive therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy); Group therapy (Supportive therapy, group psychoeducation, and Logotherapy); Family Therapy (Family Psychoeducation); and community therapy.
