Abstract
Background: The views of families and people around patients with chronic kidney failure about limited life expectancy cause patients to have negative feelings. One way to relieve psychological disorders is by Self Efficacy. Self Efficacy helps determine how much effort a person incurs in a behavior, how long they will survive in the face of obstacles and how strong they are in dealing with adverse situations. Objective: To find out the relationship between self-concept and self-efficacy in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis in PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Research Methods: This study uses a correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample amounted to 49 patients taken in simple random. Data were analyzed using desktiptif and correlative tests using kendal thau. Results: Most patients with chronic renal failure have a positive concept of self-concept (61.2%). Most patients with chronic kidney failure have sufficient self-efficacy categories (85.7%). There is a relationship between self-concept and self-efficacy in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis in PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital (p = 0,000). Conclusion: The more positive self-concept of patients with chronic renal failure as well as the patient's self efficacy. Recommendations: Future studies are expected to examine the factors that influence the self efficacy of renal failure patients undergoing hemodialysis.
