Abstract

Background: The ineffectiveness of airway clearance in tuberculosis patients is the inability to clean the accumulated secretions that cause respiratory tract obstruction. Ineffective airway clearance can be overcome by effective coughing techniques. Objective: Explain the description of care in tuberculosis patients with the problem that arises is the ineffectiveness of cleaning the airway. Method: This case study used descriptive method in two patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. The instrument in this case study is in the form of nursing care, standard oper ating procedures (SOP) regarding caughing techniques. Result: The implementation had proceeded in accordance intervening between other monitor for sign of vital, monitor respiration and the status of oxygen, teach technique cough effective. In its evaluation that is carried out during three days obtained the results hadalready diminished shortness of breath the sound of the breath ronchi. Remain an unsolved problem. Planning : teach cough effective and monitor respiration and the status of oxygen. Recommendations: It would be better in future teach patients to do cough effective twice aday.
