Abstract
Backround : Based on a doctor’s diagnosis, the prevalence of heart desease in Indonesia at 2013 was 0,5% or estimated at around 883,447 people. Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) is a condition that involves chest discomfort or other symptoms caused by a lack of oxygen to the heart muscle (myocardium). This ACS is a collection of manifestations or symptoms due to interference with coronary arteries. Non pharmacological therapy deep brething relaxation technique are believed to reduce pain in ACS patient. Objective : Knowing the effectiveness of applying deep breath relaxation to reduce pain in ACS patients. Method : The method used is quantitative descriptive method with a case study approach. The case study subjects were clients with ACS. Data is collected by means of interviews, observation, and documentation. Result : The application of deep breathing relaxation techniques is effective in reducing pain, after being done in 3 days the first day pain scale in patient 1 is 8 on the third day to 2 and in patient 2 is 7 to 2. Conclusion : The application of deep breathing relaxation techniques can reduce pain in ACS patients Recommendation : It is expected to apply deep breath relaxation techniques to other ACS patients to reduce the scale of pain.
