Abstract
Background of the study : One aspect of development that is very important for children is language. Through language children can deliver their wishes, thoughts, hopes, and requests and can get along with others in the childs environtment. When childrean learn language, children will have good language skills, so that they easily communicate with with their environment. Delays and speech disorders can have a serious impact on personal, social and academic development, therefore early diagnosis and intevention are needed. Hence , the authors are interested to giving play therapy using hand puppet media to improve language skills in pre-school age children. Objective of the study : This case study dscribe about nursing care with application of playing therapy using hand puppet media to develop language skills in pre-school age children. Method : This scientific method using study case analytic descriptive method. The subject was 2 children of pre-school age children (5-6 years) who is given playing therapy using hand puppet media for 3 meetings. The measurement instrument using DDST. Result : Playing therapy using hand puppet media proven as an effective therapy to improve language skills in pre-school age children. Recomendation : Health workers or teacher should use playing therapy using hand puppet media as a theurapeutic choice to improve language skills in pre-school age children.
