Abstract
Background: In 2015 the total number of men who did circumcision increased to 76% -92% in Indonesia. There are several known circumcision techniques today, including traditional circumcision, conventional (incision), and modern. At present, the clamp method is one of the many methods that are starting to become popular. Objective: To find out the factors related to the interest of children to circumcise the clamp method in Karanganyar Kebumen. Method: This study uses a correlational design with a cross sectional approach. A sample of 100 children who were still in school sat in grade 3,4,5 which had not been circumcised taken in total sampling. Data were analyzed descriptively and correlated using the Chi-Square test. Results: There is a correlation between children's knowledge about circumcision of the clamp method and the interest of children in circumcising the clamp method (p = 0,000). There is no correlation between the child's attitude towards circumcision of the clamp method and the interest of children in circumcising the clamp method (p = 0.143). There is a relationship between family support and the interest of children to circumcise the clamp method (p = 0.010). There was no correlation between the distance to the circumcision site and the interest of the child in circumcising the clamp method (p = 0.796). There is a relationship between peers' attitudes towards the clamp circumcision method and the interest of children to circumcise the clamp method (p = 0,000). Conclusion: The better knowledge, peer attitude, and family support for children, the higher the interest in circumcising the clamp method. Recommendation: It is expected that the clamp method will become one of the main choices of the community in circumcision, considering that the clamp circumcision method is safer than conventional or laser methods.
