Abstract
Background : Brain vascularity disorders in non-hemorrhagic strokes give rise to various clinical manifestations, one of which is the loss of control of motor movements which can generally be manifested by motor dysfunction such as hemiparesis (weakness that occurs on one side of the body). Therefore, patients need rehabilitation quickly and precisely the range of motion (ROM) exercises. One of the exercises is Active Assist ROM : Spherical Grip which is a functional hand exercise. Objective : To implement Active Assistive ROM Therapy : Spherical Grip to stimulate hand movements so that it can increase muscle strength of the upper limb in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients. Method : This study uses a case study method (Case Study). The respondents were 2 non-hemorrhagic stroke patients. Instrument in this case study is in the form of (standard operating procedure) SOP handheld therapy using rubber balls. Result : After applying Active Assist ROM therapy : Spherical Grip increases the strength of the upper limb muscles, obtained the value of upper limb muscle strength in patients 1 from 2 to 3 and the value of upper limb muscle strength in patients 2 from 3 to 4. Action : Actions taken to overcome the problem of physical mobility in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients, the patient performs Active Assistive ROM therapy : Spherical Grip. Recommendation : Active Active ROM: Spherical Grip is a functional exercise on the hand by holding round objects like balls on the palm of the hand.
