Abstract
Background: The incidence of cesarean section surgery in Indonesia is around 20-25% of total deliveries in government hospitals, while in private hospitals the number is very high, which is around 30-38% of total deliveries. Disadvantages of cesarean section are 2 times the risk of bleeding, pain and postoperative healing are longer than normal labor. Efforts to minimize the risk of occurrence in mothers after cesarean section are by early mobilization Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the implementation of early mobilization in post cesarean section mothers in the surgical ward of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: This study uses the analytical method of correlation with a cross sectional approach. The study sample was 19 mothers post cesarean section taken by simple random sampling. The research instrument was the level of knowledge about early mobilization using a questionnaire while the implementation of early mobilization in post section caesarean women was observed. Data was analyzed using descriptive analysis and correlation using the chi square test. Results: Post cesarean section mothers had a low level of knowledge (52.4%). Post-section caesarean women did not carry out early mobilization (52.4%). There is a correlation between the level of knowledge and the implementation of early mobilization in post cesarean section mothers (p = 0,000). Conclusion: The higher the level of knowledge of postpartum mothers about early mobilization, the more skilled the postpartum mother is in conducting early mobilization. Recommendation: Nurses are expected to provide education about early mobilization so that patients are motivated to mobilize early
