Abstract
Background: Asthma is a disease that cannot be cured but can be controlled. Asthma sufferers can still live productively if they can control asthma with pharmacological therapy or non-pharmacological therapy. Buteyko breathing technique is one of the breathing techniques used to improve breathing in asthmatics in order to breathe efficiently and correctly. Objective: To explain the application of buteyko breathing techniques to overcome the ineffectiveness of airway clearance in asthmatic patients. The study sample was 3 patients with a medical diagnosis of asthma. Method: The study design used a descriptive case study design with a nursing care approach. Results: There are signs of positive symptomps after being given buteyko breathing technique innovations including reduced breathlessness, reduced chest pain, reduced wheexing, and breathing within normal limits. Conclusion: Buteyko breathing technique can overcome the ineffectiveness of airway clearance in asthma patients.
