Abstract
Background: babies weighing less than 2500 grams regardless of gestation will quickly experience heat loss and become hypothermia, because the heat regulatory centers are not functioning properly, their metabolism is low, and the body surface is relatively large. Objective: the purpose of this paper is to explain nursing care by giving kangaroo method treatments in low birth weight infants who have hypothermia. Results of Nursing Care: the primary nursing diagnoses that appear in all three of these low birth weight patients are hypothermia. Implementation was performed according to nursing intervention, evaluation of results for 3x2 hours of patients experienced an increase in body temperature. Recommendation: nurses are expected to apply baby massagefor handling the hypotermia nursing problem of low birth weight patients.
