Abstract
Background: Menarche is the term for first menstruation, children get menarche at the age of 12-14 yyears. Some physical change that appear during menarche are a sign that the woman has reached sexual maturation and is ready to reproduce. in adolescence there will be hormonal, physical, psychological and social changes that take place in series. Objective to find out the response of adolescent girls pschologcal readness atmenarche in Gombong 5 Elementary School and Selokerto 1 public Elementary School. Method: The study was conducted with quantitative design, the number of samples of this study were 71 female students who had experiented elementary level menarche sampling uses sampling technique . Data were analyzed using descriptive analzis test. Results: Of 71 respondents the majority of children at menarche age with ideal categories of 49 respondents (69.0%). Positive psychological responses were 24 respondents (33.8%), negative psychological responses were 4 respondents (66.2%). Conclusion: The psychological response when facing the most menarche is the negative psychological resonse of 47 resonedents (66.2%). Recommendation: As a reference material to see the psychological response of young women so that the can reduce negative responses when acing menarche.
