Abstract

Background : Hypertension is an increase in blood pressure from the normal level that cause vaskular damage to blood vessels. Effect of hypertension is are headache, because any interruption of circulation in the brain that leads to increased vascular resistance. One of the non- pharmacological measures in the hypertensive patient is applications of complementary theraphy slow stroke back massage and warm compresses. Objective : Being able to provide nursing care in hypertensive patient with acute pain in the emergency care units installation of hospitals Banyumas. Method : This study used a descriptive case study, collected data used by interviews, observation and documentation. Results:The results of the assessment analysis of data obtained nursing problems of acute pain. Intervention is a comprehensive pain assessment, monitoring signs - vital signs, providing complementary action of slow stroke back massage and warm compresses, provide an analgesic. Implementation after 3x24 hours of nursing action decreased pain scale an blood pressure. In patient 1 before the application of SSBM and warm compresser of pain felt on a scale of 6, blood pressure 224/127 mmHg, and after applying the perceived pain to a scale 3 and blood pressure to 150/90 mmHg. In patient 2 before application of pain felt on a scale of 5, blood pressure 190/108 mmHg, and after applying the perceived pain to a scale 2 and blood pressure to 120/89 mmHg. Recommendation : This case study is to improve the quality of nursing care in hypertensive patient with the application of slow stroke back massage and warm compresses to reduce pain scale and blood pressure.
