Abstract
Background: One of the components that improve the quality of life is by increasing the spirituality of the elderly. Spirituality is an integral component that affects the health of the elderly. The spiritual presentation of the elderly is quite high (52.6%) where this figure is still far from the target of the quality of life of the elderly. In 2019, the number of elderly people in Indonesia will increase to 27.5 million or 10.3%. Objective: to find out the spiritual relationship between the Koran and the quality of life of the elderly in Gemeksekti Village Method: This study used a quantitative correlative descriptive design. The sample in this study were 87 elderly people who were taken by purposive sampling. The research instrument was a Spiritual Well Being Scale and WHO-Qol BREF questionnaire. Data were analyzed descriptively and correlatively using the tau control test. Result: Spiritual assess the elderly in the moderate category (56.3%) and the quality of life of the elderly in the moderate category (58.6%). There is a spiritual relationship between the Koran and the quality of life of the elderly in Gemeksekti Village (p = 0.000). Conclusion: The better the spiritual recitation of the elderly, the better the quality of life Recommendation: Further researchers should develop research on the spiritual relationship of the Koran to the quality of life of the elderly with a homogeneous sample of characteristics such as age, education level and occupation so that the results obtained are more accurate.
