Abstract

Background: The World Health Organization (WHO) reported in 2010 that 60% of the causes of death of all ages are due to non-communicable diseases. Diabetes mellitus is ranked 6th as a cause of death. About 1.3 million people die from diabetes and 4% die under the age of 70. In 2030, diabetes mellitus is estimated to rank 7th cause of world death. While in Indonesia, by 2030 it is estimated that there will be 213 people with diabetes mellitus. Objective: To determine the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus wounds at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Gombong Adult room. Method: The design used was descriptive with a sample of 50 nurses in classrooms 2 and 3. Results: In the study obtained data on wound care by nurses in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. That the age and duration of work of nurses is very influential in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus care. Conclusion: SOP in Hospital is very important and every action that will be taken by nurses must be used Recommendations: The use of SOP must always be monitored so that they can clean the wound properly.
