Abstract

Background: Diet is one of the most important factors in the management of chronic renal failure Background: There are still many infants and children who have never been immunized at all, due to maternal concerns resulting from side effects from such immunizations such as pain, heat, and often illness. Several studies have been conducted on techniques to reduce the pain felt by babies during immunization, one of them is Family Triple Support (FTS). FTS is an integrated intervention that involves the role of parents in overcoming pain problems during infant immunization procedures Objective: To determine the effect of family triple support (FTS) on infant pain response during pentabio immunization at Alian Health Center. Research Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent posttest design only design. The population in this study were all infants given pentabio immunization in Alian Health Center as many as 552 infants. The study sample of 84 infants were taken at random simple. The sample was divided into 2 groups: 42 infants into the treatment group and 42 infants with the control group. Data were analyzed descriptively and comparatively using the Mann Whitney U Test. Results: There was an effect of Family Triple Support (FTS) on infant pain response during pentabio immunization at Alian Health Center (p = 0.000). Characteristics of infants by age and sex at the Alian Health Center showed that most babies were female (51.2%) and aged 2-3 months (34.5%). The response of infant pain during the pentabio immunization treatment group (given triple family support treatment) at the Alian Health Center showed that most infants experienced moderate pain (59.5%). The response of infant pain during the control group's pentabio immunization (hug treatment) at Alian Health Center showed that all infants had severe pain (100.0%). Conclusion: The response of infant pain during immunization for pentabio group given triple family support treatment) is lower than the group of infants given hug treatment. Recommendation: Mothers of babies are expected to be able to do the Family Triple Support method to increase the comfort of the baby during immunization so that the baby does not experience excessive pain.
