Abstract

Background: Typhoid fever is an infectious disease caused by salmonella thypi bacteria, which can cause health problems. Symptoms of typhoid fever such as high fever up to 40C, frequent abdominal pain, constipation can occur red spots on the body. This situation can only be treated with antibiotics. The use of antibiotics needs to be evaluated to ensure the quality and effectiveness of antibiotic therapy, and the appropriateness of antibiotic administration to prevent bacterial resistance. The Purpose of the research : Objectives To find out the description of the use of antibiotics in pediatric patients with typhoid fever used by Aghisna Medika Hospital Kroya in the period September 2019 - September 2020. And used to evaluate the use of antibiotic drugs in pediatric patients with typhoid fever at Aghisna Medika Hospital Kroya, covering 3 exactly as appropriate drug, frequency precise, dosage precise. Method : used a non-experimental method, namely a retrospective data collection by looking at the patient's medical record data on giving antibiotics to typhoid fever pediatric patients at the Aghisna Medika Hospital Kroya Inpatient Installation from September 2019 to September 2020. Result : In this study, there were 41 cases of typhoid fever pediatric patients. The resulting data was then compared with the Standard Operating Procedures for Handling tifoid fever according to WHO 2003. The antibiotics used at Aghisna Medika Hospital Kroya in the period September 2019 - September 2020 were ampicillin in 8 patients (19.51%), cefotaxime in 15 patients (36 ,58%), ceftriaxone in 16 patients (39.02%), cefixime in 2 patients (4.87%). The results of the evaluation found that 100% correct frequency, 100% correct drug and 85.36% correct dose. Conclusion: Ceftriaxone antibiotics are still the first-line antibiotics to treat typhoid fever patients at Aghisna Medika Hospital Kroya in the period September 2019 - September 2020
