Abstract
Background: Adolescence period shows the begininning of puberty started by menstruation. Dysmenorrhe is one of menstrual disorders manifested by pain on lower part of abdomen spreading to lower back and limbs. Objective: To determine the effect of inhalational lemon (cytrus) aromatherapy on the level of primary dysmenorrhea in x grade students of State Senior High School 1 of Binangun, Cilacap Methods: The present study used quasy experimental research with one group pre test and post test design. the samples consisted of 22 students taken by purposive sampling technique. The treatment of inhalational lemon (cytrus) aromatherapy was given on on the first, second, and the third days of menstruation for 10 minutes. Data analysis used wilcoxon test with pvalue <0,05 to determine the effect of inhalational lemon (cytrus) aromatherapy on the level of primary dysmenorrhea. The results: The result of Wilcoxon test showed that on the first day Z=-4,169 and p=0,00<0,05, the second day Z=-4,284 and p=0,00<0,05, the third day Z=-4,456 and p=0,00<0,05. Overall showed that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted meaning the effect of inhalational lemon (cytrus) aromatherapy on the level of primary dysmenorrhea. Conclusion: There was significant effect of inhalational lemon (cytrus) aromatherapy on the level of primary dysmenorrhea in x grade students of State Senior High School 1 of Binangun, Cilacap.
