Abstract
Background: In fact, there is no special food or drink that can increase the volume of breast-milk production. Green-bean contains active compounds, namely polyphenols and flavonoids that function to increase the hormone prolactin. When the hormone prolactin increases, the milk secretion will be maximum so that the quantity of breast-milk will increase. Objective: To apply green-bean extract for increasing the volume of breast-milk production of postpartum mothers in Independent Midwifery Clinic of Midwife Aning Friyanti Method: This study is a qualitative descriptive with a case study approach. The participants were 5 postpartum mothers. The instrument used was observation shee. Data was collected by conducting interviews and observations. Result: After 7 days applying green-bean rextract, the volume of breast-milk expenditure of postpartum mothers was increasing – from 60% became 100% (good category). Conclusion: The application of green-bean extract is effective in increasing the volume of breast-milk production of postpartum mothers.
