Abstract
Background: Elderly is a condition where there is a decrease in body function as a result it can affect health and body functions which can lead to the risk of disability. The elderly who suffer from hypertension in Caruban Village are 28 respondents, which are dominated by elderly women. Purpose: Describing the developmental stage of family nursing care for the elderly with hypertension. Methods: This study used a descriptive method. The data collection process used interviews, observation, and physical examination techniques. Respondents in this study consisted of 3 assisted families who have elderly aged 60 years and over. Giving this elderly exercise therapy with a movement method that is easy to follow. Blood pressure measurements were carried out before the elderly exercise and after the elderly exercise. Result: After the application of elderly gymnastics and demonstrations for 3 days, it was found that the blood pressure decreased from the three fostered families with an average systolic value of 5-6 mmHg and diastolic 3-4 mmHg Recommendation: The application of elderly gymnastics therapy is effective so that it can help health services at the Caruban Village Health Center in the Posyandu program for the elderly.
