Abstract

Background: Based on the data, there are 19,500 to 20,000 cases of mortality of postpartum mothers that happen in every 26 to 27 minutes due to infection every year. This infection is characterized by pain or tenderness in the perineal area of postpartum mothers The impact of improper perineal wound care can result in condition of the perineum becoming moist so that it will greatly support the proliferation of infection in the perineum. Objective: To describe a nursing care for post partum mothers with infection risk which include assessment, problem diagnosis, nursing intervention, implementation and evaluation. Method: This research is a case study with a descriptive research design. Result: After having nursing care (boiled water of betel leaf as vulva hygine), there was no sign of infection of perineal wound of postpartum mothers. Recommendation: To overcome the perineal wound infection of postpartum others, nurses can apply boiled water of betel leaf.
